CHILDREN'S
MINISTRY
“And He took a child,
and set him in the midst of
them: and when He had taken him in His arms, He said
unto them, ‘Whosever shall receive one of such
children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever
shall receive me, receiveth not me, but Him that
sent me.’” Mark 9:36-37
The Children’s Department at Woodland Hills Baptist
Church strives to reach out to all children in the
name of Jesus Christ. Our goal is to provide a
positive, Christ-like atmosphere in which children
are capable of hearing the Gospel and growing in the
likeness of Christ. We encourage each child to learn
the truths of the Bible through the various programs
that take place on a weekly basis.
Sunday School
Children’s Sunday school classes are
offered for children of all ages. It’s
never too early to introduce children to
the love of God. We want to provide our
children with a safe, Christian
environment to learn, to feel loved, and
to experience biblical truths. Our
teachers are positive, adult role models
and enjoy seeing your children grow in
the understanding of God and His
wonderful ways! Sunday school meets at
11:10am
following our morning worship service.
AWANA
Woodland Hills has an Awana program that succeeds in
teaching scriptural truths to children. Awana is a
program designed to instill scripture memorization
practices in the minds of children. Our children
memorize scripture passages weekly and are required
to recite the chosen passages to their leader. Our
goal is as stated in the Awana pledge: “I pledge
allegiance to the Awana flag, which stands for the
Awana clubs, whose goal is to reach boys and girls
with the Gospel of Christ, and train them to serve
Him!” What a tremendous program designed for
children to grow spiritually through the study of
God’s Word. The Awana Club meets on Wednesday
evenings at 6:00pm. |
